Jesus Lives

Have you ever had one of those experiences in life where you feel like God is pricking your heart to move, to change, to grow, to stretch?   Well last night was one of those nights.  For the 2nd year in the past 3 years Meg and I attended the Southeast Christian church Easter Pageant.  For the 2nd time watching it, it was fresh and new for me.  Knowing the story so intimately allows me to enjoy the acting, music, and environment that the pageant brings to life and I believe that they did a great job portraying the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior. Throughout the story I caught myself wiping away the tears again…I did it also the first time I watched it.

You know the story….Jesus is with his disciples and he says as recorded in the Synoptic gospels (Ch’s 10, 8, & 9 respectively).
"For whoever wants to save his life  will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it."  I have a T-Shirt that I wear with this statement, but it brought tears to my eyes and at this point in the play I felt God say, "what are you losing for me? why won’t you let me lead you?  why are you afraid of being a parent?" That’s when it hit me…THIS IS NOT ABOUT ME…As I fought back the tears and the conviction in my heart I couldn’t help but be moved by the performance that was before me.  I truly enjoyed the pageant this year, and can’t figure out why I cry every time I watch it.
