Tienes Hambre

// January 22nd, 2007 // Adoption, Children

This day has been a whirlwind..this hour marks the end of a complete 48 hours in Colombia.  We have met our kids. They are beautiful and the beautiful thing is that they are in bed now sleeping, I am on the verge of crying with excitement, Meg is consoling Jeison and the day is almost over.  After we were talking with our interpreter and our lawyer they brought these three little scared children into the room, anticipating this day to meet his new parents we were told that Luis, the oldest, specifically hand picked his outfit for today and after a half day at school until their siesta lunch time at noon he was reunitied with his little brother and sister then brought in to meet us.

Their faces were precious but scared and unsure, I made my way to the door to greet them and Meg followed and then we hugged them all and they were very relieved.  Then I pulled out the w sets of Matchbox cars, thanks Bree, those were a lifesaver, the kids enjoyed them a lot, they are sleeping with them.  Gave Ana Maria her little pet shop kitty y dog and she fell in love.  They opened their presents and put them in their little back packs they had with them.  With a pair of pajamas for each they carried a favorite toy or 2 and a jacket.  Ana  was already playing house setting up her little cocina (kitchen) in her part of the room. She served everyone agua in the little teacups she had, she fit this all in her little bag that is like a big purse, along with a muneca (pronounced MOON-YEH-KA, or doll) that says mama y dadda when you press a button…we don’t know what we’re doing but we trust that the Lord will guide and protect our little family here in Colombia and when we get back to the states.  Friday is our next intake apointment where we will have our final evaluation and anticipate accepting full custody and begin our journey through the sometimes lengthy court process.  Anyway we know you’ve been waiting for a picture so here it is.

    I am speechless! Imagine me speechless!!! This is so amazing to see you all together as a family. We are so happy for you. Kaylee and Shelby wanted to know if I am so happy then why am I crying?? I had to explain to them that sometimes we are soooo happy that we cry tears of joy.
    Tell the kiddos we are glad they enjoyed the toys. Kaylee and Shelby can’t wait to play petshop with Ana Maria.
    God bless your family as you spend this time getting to know one another there in Colombia. We are all here in the States anxiously awaiting your return so we can get to know the children too!
