On our recent trip to Panaca…and the Cafe park we enjoyed a great time together with our kids and in the sun. We played in a pool, taught them how to swim, at least we tried. They loved riding on the little train at the hotel and trying to swim in the adult pool, a whole 4.5 feet deep…lol
When this picture was taken you wouldn’t know that the horse pulling our wagon just left us all a nice present.
So much to do, so much to see. Driving on the country roads here is very interesting you see jeep wranglers loaded down with bags and about 15 people…a few kids on the top of the jeep, 6 men standing on the back bumper, 1 standing on the spare tire, 2 others on the outside rear wheel wells and about 4-5 people piled inside the jeep. The jeeps are called Willies and are used to bring men and women from the coffee fields into town after work or out to the fields in the morning. You also see a lot of men riding bikes down the road with their machetes on their waist coming home from a long hard day of work. It is very cool to see how another part of God’s world lives day to day. Although we speak different languages, we know that God loves everyone and he understands everyone.
We really have not had much time to get stuff posted recently, so we apologize for that.
Today we found out some very good news. We just got back this morning from doing our laundry and had a message from our attorney here. She came to meet us around 2:30 this afternoon and took us to the courthouse here where we reviewed the paperwork and signed some papers, got our kids passport photos taken, have seen their last names changed to our names according to the Colombian government. Tomorrow we are going to run some final errands and get our attorney and interpreter paid, then buy our tickets to fly back to Bogota where we will complete our trip.
We anticipate being in Bogota through this weekend and then sometime next week be on our way to the blustery cold midwest…yipee. Our kids are seeming to adjust well and are very excited about coming to their new home. We hope you have enjoyed reading our blog and as we walk through these final days here in Colombia we hope you would continue to pray for our safety and that the transition back to the states goes smoothly. Thank you.
Congratulations! How exciting that the long-awaited journey is almost over. We’ll keep you all in our prayers.
